RR Auctions Wilkie Collins Signed Carte-de-Visite Photo

RR Auctions Wilkie CollinsBritish author regarded as the first British detective story writer (1824–1889). Original 2.5 x 4 carte-de-visite photo by Elliott and Fry, signed at the bottom of the image in black ink. On the reverse, Collins adds a fabulous AQS from The Woman in White. In full: “Women can resist a man’s love, a man’s fame, a man’s personal appearance, and a man’s money, but they cannot resist a man’s tongue when he knows how to talk to them. From The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins.” In fine condition, with a light spot to right side of background of image and some mild toning and pencil notation to reverse. RR Auction COA.
